Rockwell Collins awards $188,880 in grants to local non-profits

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (April 06, 2010) - The Rockwell Collins Employees United Fund (RCEUF) has allocated $188,880 to area health and human service agencies.

"These grants help area agencies with individual projects that improve the quality of life in Linn County," said Cindy Dietz, Manager of Community Relations for Rockwell Collins. "As the area recovers from the devastating flood of 2008 and the recession, our employees see the need and continue to step up and provide support."

RCEUF grants are funded from financial gifts made by Cedar Rapids-based employees during the company's annual workplace giving campaign.  Grant applications are solicited once a year. To be eligible, organizations must have active involvement by Rockwell Collins employees and/or retirees.

The following organizations received RCEUF grants:

Iowa Dental Foundation, Mission of Mercy
Metro Care Connection, c/o Cedar Rapids Community Schools, student health program
Miracles in Motion Therapeutic Equestrian Center, therapeutic riding program
Mission of Hope, operating support for homeless shelter
